50 YEARS OF MAMMOOTY - MAMMOOTYISAM

     Fifty years of Mammootty

A man who valued the dreams of Malayalam cinema along with his dreams. He is a unique genius who wants to grow hand in hand with the industry that feeds him, not just for his own interests. Our own 'Mammooka', PI Muhammad Kutty, entered the art world as a junior artist in 1971 and today marks the 50th anniversary of a human life.
We all know that Mammootty's art life cannot be reduced to just one or two lines. Memories of Mammootty's college life are like the autobiography of a warrior who conquered an empire through ups and downs, hardships and humiliations. While many say that Mammootty's Best Actor is related to the life story of Vivek Oberoi, we have often felt that half of it is most closely related to Mammootty. Mammootty has experienced most of the humiliations that Mohan has suffered in it in his own life. From the chase when Chance asked, to the man who breathed his last into the empty festival stages and stared at the empty ground, like a traveler coloring his dreams in front of a mirror,
Mammootty was the 20-year-old who had no dialogue behind Bahadur as a junior artiste in the 1971 film Anubhavangal Paalichakal. ⁇
After starring in Kalachakra in 1973, he acted in Devalokam, written by MT Sir in 1979, but the film was not completed. After a long wait, he returned to action in 1980 with the film Dreams for Sale. The movie 'Anubhavangal Paalichakal' has made a name for itself in Malayalam cinema. The story of growth began here.
He made his acting debut in the 1981 film Munnettam, Trishna. In the same year, he won the Kerala State Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Ahimsa. Her first foray into superstar status came in 1982 through Yavanika. He then rose to stardom and box office after Nazir and Jayan. Mammootty grew up to be the only Mammootty among those who were going to be the next Prem Nazir and Jayan. It was during this year that Mammootty started transitioning from supporting roles to villain roles and minor roles to permanent lead roles. He became the controller of the Malayalam film industry.
In 1984, he rose to superstardom with the film 'Athirathram' and in that same year he created the biggest collection hit of all time in Malayalam cinema. In 1985, he acted in 33 films, none of which failed financially. Mammootty has acted in more than 100 films in the last 5 years. Success stories start again from failures. Some Mammootty films released after Onam in 1986 failed. Taking this opportunity, some groups tried to oust Mammootty from the film industry.⁇
Even before that, Industrial Talk had paved the way for megastar status and this comeback. He ran 3 films in a row for 100 days in front of the Tamils who despised him as a B grade industry and showed him what Malayalam cinema is. In this, the CBI diary ran in Madras for a year and made history.
Mammootty is more than just a Malayalee actor, he is the only Malayalam actor who has crossed the boundaries of language and reached out to more audiences. Mammootty has created a market for Malayalam cinema in other states as well as in the Gulf countries at a time when Malayalam cinema was non-existent in other states. It is clear from the reports that Mammootty's films have crossed Kerala, Telangana and Tamil Nadu one hundred and two hundred days as he struggles to complete a film century even in Kerala.
Mammootty was the only Malayalee to seek the title of South Indian Superstar beyond just being a Malayalam Superstar. Even after the release of Mammootty films across Kerala, from superstar Rajini to Chiranjeevi, Venkitesh and Nagarjuna, we can only guess at the momentum of the popularity of Mammootty films when we hear that Ambe has not had to lie with success. When a Tamil film of Mammootty was released with Sakshal Rajini's Muthu, he stopped with Muthu at the box office and read the box office figures of the day with Mammootty. Three Mammootty films in a calendar year 1987-1988 rocked the box office in other states without even being dubbed (New Delhi, CBI, August 1)⁇
Mammootty quickly became the most marketed Malayalam actor in Telugu. The empire's success from 1990 4 prints to over 200 prints created a market for Telugu and Malayalam films. The Telugu producers have been in a hurry for the dubbing rights of many films starring Mammootty. Meanwhile, he has received rave reviews for his performances in films like Swathi Kiranam. It was the first time in Indian cinema that Mammootty jumped from superstar to megastar. In April 1987, the Khaleej Times described Mammootty as a megastar. The reason for this was the audience support that Mammootty films were getting in the Gulf countries as well. Mammootty's dominance in the Gulf was the only one to break the record of Mammootty films from record releases. The remakes of Mammootty films gave a big break from Sathyaraj in Tamil to Chirajeevi in Telugu. From a dynamic hero to a darling hero, Chiranjeevi was first given the title of Megastar by Mammootty's remake of the movie Poovinu Puthi Poonthennal. Even Chiranjeevi became a megastar in 1988 with the huge success of the movie Pasivadi Pranam. Another thing is that some online Raya citizens are still reluctant to admit it Chiranjeevi, who has gone from a dynamic hero to a darling hero, was first given the title of Megastar by Mammootty in the remake of the movie Poovinu Puthi Poonthennal. Even Chiranjeevi became a megastar in 1988 with the huge success of the movie Pasivadi Pranam. Apart from wrestling fans, Mammootty was able to create fans in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. Once at the Pankaj Hotel in Thiruvananthapuram, it was a big surprise for the national swimmers from Mammootty to come looking for Mammootty. Mammootty is also the only Malayalam film personality to have a cover program from BBC to Discovery. To date, no other Malayalee actor has been able to stand up to the twelve Filmfare Awards, including the legendary performance of Mammootty, who is competing with Bachchan and Kamal in the National Awards ... !!
