The above is a sad news that happened in the crowd when the Mammootty hero Samrajyam was released in Kerala ... !! 
Today marks the 31st anniversary of the release of the samrajyam Malayalam Under World Mafia movie, which has made the same theaters crowded.
samrajyam was released on June 22, 1990. Samrajyam was a movie in which Mammootty played the role of an underworld hero. Alexander became one of the greatest trendsetters of the time, shattering all the stylish Don character concepts seen in the Malayalam film world at that time. From the rise of a dawn to his confession and his sunset, Jomon portrayed Mammootty in the samrajyam. That is why a Donn character who rises above Alexander was not born in Malayalam ... !!
The movie which made a hit status with a huge initial collection in Kerala was dubbed in Tamil and Telugu and became a huge success. Especially in Telugu, the accompanying Chiranjeevi film was smashed for more than 400 days and became a huge financial success. The director testifies that the film ran in theaters for more than 200 days not only in Telugu but also in Tamil Nadu ... !!
The Telugu rights of the film were given for just Rs 50,000. Due to the demand for the film which took only 10 copies, more than 200 prints were brought from Prasad Lab to Andhra Pradesh. samrajyam, which has been ran in Andhra Pradesh for more than a year, has been ranked 'top chair' there. No other foreign language film has been able to break this record for 3 years ... !!
Following the big wave of samrajyam in Andhra Pradesh, the real Chiranjeevi called director Jomon and asked him to make a film. But it did not happen. Instead, it was done with Nagbabu. samrajyam also commented in Hindi. Jomon himself remade it in Hindi too ... !!
Apart from Chiranjeevi, Amitabh Bachchan also called Jomon and congratulated him. 
After the release of Samrajyam, there was a rush of Telugu producers in Andhra Pradesh for the dubbing rights of Mammootty films. Since then, Malayalam cinema has gained market share in Andhra Pradesh as well. We are still proud that Malayalam cinema and Mammootty have become the charm of Telugus with the samrajyam ... !!
Mammootty was a marketing actor who never had a Malayalam actor in a foreign language. After Mammootty, only Suresh Gopi was able to become a highly acclaimed actor in Telugu ... !!
Apart from New Delhi, Mammootty is the last Malayalam leading actor to make the whole of South Indian market. No one has had this achievement since ... !!
